When Typhoon Ondoy finally left, the shanties along the river were completely destroyed. I personally think this is good. Now let’s get these people some real housing. I hope the politicians start waking up. Unfortunately, most will just be back to their old ways as time passes.

That’s all there is to it. We were all tired from the travelling but it was good. I think this little boy’s expression says it all. The exhaustion was on all fronts, mentally, emotionally, physically pooped out. At the same time, nothing beats helping others to help ourselves.
