Some fast facts about two worthwhile countries to visit in Europe, especially if you love fast cars and great music!

Climate: Located at the heart of Europe, both Germany & Austria have a temperate climate with regional variations. The best weather is from May to October. However, much like Singapore, rain is possible in any month. Unlike South East Asia, however, the winter months from November to early March, tend to be gloomy with temperatures often dropping below freezing.

Overview: Dynamic and creative cities with imposing architecture, splendid museums (from the classics to the modern to the technological wonders), theatres and the arts, both countries are worth visiting if you have ample time.

Food: From sophisticated restaurants to a host of pubs and clubs, take your pick, especially of your very cheap (when compared to Singapore), and very good, beer.

Transport: Berlin is not well served with direct flights so take note that you will need to make connections via hubs like Frankfurt or Amsterdam. You can reach Berlin by bus from most European cities and of course, German trains run like clockwork. For those who love to take walks or cycle, Berlin is also walker and cyclist friendly. Its underground system, the U/S Bahn is also extremely efficient as I suppose only a German made and run station should be. A new tram system is now available in the eastern parts of the city.

Accommodation: Germany & Austria can be very affordable if you take the time to check on the internet – all discounted and instantly available. Here are some: Berlin Hotels , Germany Hotels And if you know German, you can take a look at these: Berlin Hotels , Wien Hotels
